Each year, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board Student Recognition Awards celebrate excellence in student leadership. Students are chosen by their principals and vice-principals for their demonstration of initiative, supported by the will to succeed, the dedication to finish what they started, and the commitment to achieve their personal best.

Anna R.!
Anna R. has been a supportive and innovative presence for both students and staff during her time at Lisgar Collegiate Institute. She has spearheaded the introduction of a new breakfast program at the school, which has had a strong positive influence on a significant number of her peers. Anna has also organized many Student Council wellness activities to support mental health, is head of Lisgar’s Intersectional Feminist Club, and has volunteered in the school’s specialized program class. She has found many creative new ways to support student well-being, like working with school administration to provide fresh fruit to students during the exam period, and has been a leading contributor to this year's Rainbow Alliance Showcase and Lisgar’s Day Against Injustice initiative.
